Returning
from a break one day, I was delighted to find I had company!

As
you've probably figured out, I'm Kristina. I love spending my time
gardening, hanging out with my family, seeing live music, and most
of all, creating new things. Material & media matter not, I'm
open to inspiration.
I currently live in Austin, Tx. with my very talented hubby Jeff,
& our wonderful furry family. We were adopted by our sweet
pussy, Shiva, in '99. She's a beautiful Tortoise Shell, with the most loving
personality.
My sweet, smiley, little man-Tiko, who had been with me since May '93, passed away Jan. '06. Jeff & I met in '97. With him,
came Chance, who passed away 2 months after Tiko, at the age of 11. We liked to think of him as our own Buddha reincarnate,
or perhaps bodhisattva. He was the most amazing & sensitive man
I've ever met. Between the 2, we suffered a great loss we thought would never heal. We adopted Woody in May 2006, & he is the brightest blessing thus far.
Rough around the edges at first, he has grown to be one of the most affectionate, loyal, & obedient furry friends, with a heart of gold.
Being able to offer my creations for sale, enables
me to enjoy what I do, while supplementing our income while spending more time at home with my family. |

My
parents can attest, I've ALWAYS been crafty. Since introduction
to the most basic tools, I've enjoyed drawing, sculpting & just
about everything else I can get my hands on! My first box of crayons
introduced me to a whole new world of brilliance. I wanted to put
color on everything! Much to my mother's dismay, sometimes I did.
I remember back to preschool, how our teacher gave us all crayons,
to color in line drawings. One day, in a feisty mood, I just scribbled
all over randomly, as I'd seen done by other kids in my class. My
teacher came along & scolded me, saying she *knew* I could do
better than that! She was right. I was being lazy & just trying
to get off easy, like some of the others. I recall cursing her in
my mind, for knowing I already knew how to stay in the lines. Because
I knew better, she expected more from me. This simple recollection
has stayed with me, through the years. If the attempt is ½
assed, don't bother. Perhaps it was just the motivation I've always
needed, to push myself furthur, & try to do more, despite what
some of my peers deemed as sufficient. |
From what I can remember, I've always wanted to share my art. Ideally,
sell my crafts & wares, to support myself. The ultimate dream:
one day have my own store, where I can not only sell the stuff I
make, but can also buy from other independent artisans, to help
support them, as well! This dream turned into a goal, & hopefully
one day, I'll evolve from a virtual location, to a physical one.

I started seriously trying to sew, as a means to my travels. *Inspired
by the music*, following the bands I loved, I discovered I could
make things to sell, for gas/hotel/food money on tour. I slowly
worked my way from slinging hemp macramed & beaded jewelry,
to clothing & accessories. Once I somewhat settled down in one
place, my efforts focused on developing my skills & creations,
to be the best they can. I know I'm offering items made with much
care, skill & LOVE, while continuously looking for ways to improve
my work. I strive for longevity, & quality, in everything I
make. I want them to last forever & bring the owner as much
happiness & satisfaction, as creating them brings me.
While I long to one day support myself completely off of my creations, I am currently back to working a full time job outside the house,
as well do side work as a vendor coordinator & more, in the event production business for my husband:
